FEEL ERASMUS IN SPAIN

During the exchange in Spain, we did many outgoing activities among the students of Poland, Malta, Finland, France and us.

First and foremost, we took a bus tour around the city (Madrid) that ended up into a guiding tour.

The students were impressed of how hot it was, but so did we; there were almost 32 degrees and it wasn’t even summer yet.

When we finally came back to school, we decided to take a picnic in a park which is nearby and in that way we had time to meet each other a little better.

On Tuesday, we went to the Museum of Illusions, and right after finishing, as we were in the city center, we convinced the teachers to let us go take a walk around, we had a lot of fun eating shaped waffles.

After a long and tiring day of debate on Wednesday, the families organized an activity for all the students. We went bowling and the students felt very comfy with each other.

Thursday was the greatest day for everyone, we spent the day in the Warner Amusement Park, the students were so excited of going in all the roller coasters, specially, the water ones, as we were all melting under the sun.

Everyone got dizzy at the end of the activity but we all kept the good moments with us.

On Friday, we had free time for rest a bit of the week and buy some souvenirs for the family, a few students started to feel stressed out because of the hour of getting back to school, but we made it on time and we closed the week with pizzas and music.

Spain hosts more than 30 people from other European countries thanks to the Erasmus project

The last May 8, an Erasmus project started in Madrid, Spain. The countries that were involved in this activity were France, Malta, Poland, Finland and Spain. Some of them, had already participated in other mobilities such as the Finnish one.

This was an exciting activity whose main objective was to form a debate in which the different students from all the countries had to share their ideas and reach to a conclusion of what were the best solutions to different situations. But also, to show and improve their social and debate skills while interacting with other people coming from other cultures. Consequently, everyone had to socialize with each other and that’s why this week in Madrid was beautiful. Spanish students hosted 12 people during this short time, 6 Polish people and 6 Finnish ones. Other countries stayed in hotels.

As the Erasmus main idea project was taking place, students were having an excellent week, too. The Spanish hosts did their best so everyone could learn a lot from their culture. Some of them, took them a ride around the city center and showed them the Retiro Park the best way they could have done, renting some boats, and having a good time enjoying a sunny day. Besides, another day, some Spanish students organized a football match. I should also mention the day that everybody went to the bowling alley and had a lot of fun. A big part of them went to the famous gay neighborhood in Madrid, Chueca as well. But, obviously, the best day, took place during the last night, where some Spanish teachers arranged a barbecue. After having dinner, they had a Farewell party. It was a nice experience in which everyone learnt a lot of other culture customs and forged new relationships, they also get to know this awesome city and its amazing people.

UNITED NATIONS DEBATE
The members of the Erasmus Feel 2021 project participated in a simulation of a UN debate.

Students from all around Europe, coming from Finland, France, Poland, Spain and Malta were assembled in Madrid in order to participate in the Erasmus Feel 2021 project. The principal activity was a simulation of a UN debate.

The students were divided into groups of two, and each pair represented an UN country.

Before the debate, the students received instructions on how this type of debate takes place. This lesson was taught by a student with experience in this type of events.

In addition, the members participated in a workshop where they learnt some keys on how to speak correctly in public. The students should apply these concepts later during the debate.

During the debate, the countries discussed measures and, in the end, they reached an agreement and they signed a treaty.

The debate resulted very good, the students learned how a debate works from the inside and they had a great experience.

At the end, the winning couples were awarded with diplomas given by the moderators of the debate.
